Meryl Streep wears an officer's cap at a rakish tilt throughout most of <cite>Mother Courage and Her Children</cite>, the breathlessly-anticipated revival of Bertolt Brecht's anti-war, anti-business masterwork that the Public Theater opened last night as part of its free festival in Central Park. We really miss the babushka.
