SURF'S UP -- my one act play
I recently participated in a terrific writing exercise. It's a one-day play event. Five playwrights arrive at the theatre at 9:00 AM, we're given a topic, headshots of two actors, and we find a desk and write a ten minute play. Four hours later the actors and directors arrive, they're given their scripts, and they go off and rehearse and memorize. At 7:30 that night is the performance. It's scary, it's crazy, …
