"La Cage aux Folles" - Reviews: [ DN ] 'Folles' revival's far from a drag by Howard Kissel It has been given a loving, heartwarming revival. [ Y ] La Cage aux Folles Review by David Rooney, Variety Mystifyingly, for a show with a book by the outspokenly gay-political Harvey Fierstein, this glitzy Broadway revival plays like a pre-"Will and Grace" relic, lobbed onto the stage as if in a cultural vacuum. [ NJ ] No longer a novelty and a bit of a drag BY MICHAEL SOMMERS For viewers who might not demand the best of times -- certainly that mediocre revival of "42nd Street" has drawn audiences for more than three years -- this substandard "La Cage aux Folles" may well offer a pleasant one. [ TB ] La Cage aux Folles Review by Matthew Murray Nothing dulls faster than a knife that wasn't that sharp to begin with. It should come as no surprise, then, that the revival of La Cage aux Folles that just opened at the Marquis not only doesn't cut deeply, it doesn't even break the skin. 2) The proposal is state legislation in Alabama and has nothing to do with President Bush. 3) The proposal doesn't ban anything, it just refuses to fund some things with government money. * BroadwayStars.com does not write headlines and ledes. When we do editorialize, it is marked in red. * People judge you by the company you keep. If W is inviting this backward redneck to the White House five times, chances are they believe the same thing. * Federal Legislation usually gets tested at the state level first.
