Sunday afternoon I got together with much of the BroadwayStars staff to see the final performance of AMOUR. We had our own little Irish wake for the show (or was it a French wake?).

You can blame tepid reviews, lousy marketing, lack of star power, the economy, or El Nio - all I can say is, if a show as wonderful as AMOUR can't succeed, I really worry about the state of the industry. Seeing and hearing Melissa Errico sob as she hit her last note (for real - I'm told she'd never done that before) really floored me.

I also saw the final Mufti performance of JUMBO, which helped make Sunday one of the most enjoyable days I've spent at the theater in a while. Maybe there is hope after all, if you know where to look for it...
