The satellite radio market for Broadway music is getting a little more crowded with the introduction of Sirius Satellite Radio's 'Broadway's Best'. Just like Broadway's own 1010WINS, 24/7 Sirius will also introduce Radio Playbill, with news headlines can now be heard throughout the day at the top of each hour, seven days a week. 'Broadway's Best' is also being streamed through the Sirius website at www.SiriusRadio.com. Breaking news will be added "day-of" as it happens. It is hosted by former Theatre.com editor, Robert Viagas, who now works for Playbill's broadcast division. In other Playbill news, Reporter David Lefkowitz is leaving Playbill On-Line and the job has been posted. This is a full-time reporting job at Playbill with benefits. That's somewhat fortunate, because the incredibly talented Norbert Leo Butz shines even brighter in his role when compared to Sherie. Most of the changes to the show since its Skokie incarnation worked for me, but the replacement of "I Could Be in Love With Someone Like You" is, I feel, misguided. I still feel that overall, this is JRB's best work to date, and I hope it has a long and successful run. To help that along... Lauren Kennedy, who originated the role of Kathy in Skokie, will be back in New York in late April, after her London production of 'South Pacific' closes as scheduled.
