Saturday, June 30, 2001 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() One of the hard-working, lucky, presumably rich men behind The Producers talks about putting the show together. ![]() ![]() I actually saw A.I. last night. The film as a whole is... uh... interesting. But Michael Berresse did do an excellent job. I'd love to wish him a successful career in the movies, but I want him to keep working in the theatre, too! posted at 6/30/2001 09:47:49 AM by Matthew Murray | Item Link Friday, June 29, 2001 ![]() ![]() Excellent news about JRB's show. Talk about a pain in the neck! I can live with an ad popping up the first time I click on their site, but to have a new window with an ad pop up EVERY time I click on something? That is extremely annoying and a waste of my time. The only reason I posted a link to them right now, is because I think Peter is a good guy and I enjoy reading his column. Now, on the other hand, I saw Jason Robert Brown's "The Last Five Years" at Northlight Theatre in Skokie and I thought it was excellent. LFY takes the audience through a 5 year relationship. It is a two character play. The woman's character (played by Lauren Kennedy) starts at the end of the relationship and works her way backward to the beginning. The man's character (played by Norbert Leo Butz) starts in the beginning and works toward the end. The show is heartbreaking and funny. I think it can have a nice run off-Broadway. It will be recorded in the fall. I saw Marty Bell in the house after the show. On the heels of "A Class Act" I think this show would be welcome producing project for him.
