The Yankees gave the Mets "The Full Monty"... Which brings up the little trivia -- which cast member of The Full Monty owes his first break to George Steinbrenner?

'The Full Monty': Strutting Past Trouble, It's a Guy Thing. "The Full Monty," the hearty singing adaptation of the popular English film about a motley male troupe of amateur strippers, opened on Thursday night in a blaze of pure mass appeal.

Blind Item:

What's the real story as to why ROCKY HORROR won't reveal boxoffice figures to Variety? Is it because they aren't sold out and sent tixs to the booth only to have them go unsold?

I did not catch the fact that last week's B.O. was not reported, but it was for only a few previews. It will be interesting to see if they are reported this week.

Blind Item:

A certain B'way show should be dancing out of their theater soon, so that the theater can be whitewashed for its next production.

Now that one is pretty obvious...

Small note to Al Leiter: thanks.

Can the Mets blow it even bigger? Come on now! Most of you know my Yankee leanings, so to clear up the confusion, let me remind you that I have game 7 tickets which would mean that the Mets need to win 3 games (only 2 more I realize) for a game 7 to happen. Lets go Mets!

On another note, NY sports fans are really tired. Late baseball games on Saturday then Sunday. On Monday night the Jets beat Miami in overtime. And then late games Wednesday and Thursday. Some of us have not slept in weeks.

The Full Monty was on The Today Show this morning, doing the number "Let It Go". Although I don't expect Mr. Brantley to give it a rave, I expect that the crowd reaction, as well as group ticket sales, will be a pleasant experience for the producers. Toronto Star: Goodbye, Gwen Verdon, and all that jazz. The Broadway star dazzled; no wonder Bob Fosse loved her. By Richard Ouzounian

Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner? Len Cariou has moved from Shakespeare to Sondheim and now to Simon, as he returns to Broadway The Dinner Party.

There was an Elton John concert at MSG for the past few nights. When Elton wanted to step away from the piano and do a duet with Kiki Dee, who did Elton call on? Jim Abbott, who plays in the AIDA pit as well as did dance arrangements for the show. (Elton sang "Don't Go Breakin' My Heart" with Kiki Dee.)
