'Company' on the cheap By JACQUES LE SOURD

The question that really looms over this production is why Sondheim would have allowed it to be brought to Broadway in the first place.

'Sweeney Todd' cut to the bone By JACQUES LE SOURD

'In My Life," there's a bad musical By JACQUES LE SOURD

Broadway's Newest Darling

Broadway leading ladies usually get flowers, but Marissa Jaret Winokur has come to expect candy. After all, her co-stars have their careers to think about. The "Hairspray" castmates are just doing their part to ensure a long run by helping their colleague continue to fill out the role of Tracy Turnblad.

Is it a bad thing when your boss leaves you a message saying, "I hope you're not out seeing Hairspray again!" I returned the call to let her know I was merely doing laundry. She told me on Friday I wasn't allowed to go again, BUT, she's on vacation next week and I have a ticket for Tuesday night. : )

On Broadway: 'Coram Boy' is dark fare By JACQUES LE SOURD

Now and forever By JACQUES LE SOURD

Has it really been, gulp, only 18 years? Somehow, "The Phantom" already seemed like the longest-running show on Broadway the night it opened.

No glitz in revival of 'The Ritz' By JACQUES LE SOURD

What's missing is the soaring spirit of a place and time, which could surely have been rekindled in the right hands. And these would certainly have seemed to be the right hands.

'110 in the Shade' needs more heat By JACQUES LE SOURD

The wan and soulless revival of "110 in the Shade" that opened last night at the Roundabout Theatre Co.'s Studio 54 makes it hard not to ponder art in the age of $5 cups of coffee.
