Lucy Prebble's Enron is a cautionary tale that brilliantly captures the Houston-based corporation's high-rolling times and remains sadly relevant in these days of Wall Street bailouts that followed, perhaps inexorably, seven years after Enron's collapse. Director Rupert Goold has created a spectacle, part Kafka, part Vegas, that is lovely to look at and yet painful to behold. It is a Shakespearean tale of greed, lust and power, told by a British playwright with a savvy touch for American capitalism in the raw with a Texas accent.
